Type F – Brass Wall-Mounted 90° Pipe Connector

The Type F is a wall-mounted flange fitting with a 90° pipe entry. A horizontal pipe enters from the front and terminates inside the fitting. A vertical pipe passes through the back of the fitting independently — it is not connected to the horizontal pipe but passes through the fitting body. The base plate has four countersunk mounting holes and is fastened to the wall.

Precision CNC-machined from 100% solid, unlacquered brass. Available in brushed (satin) and polished finishes, in three pipe diameters.

Key Features:

  • Horizontal pipe enters from the front at 90° — terminates inside the fitting
  • Vertical pipe passes through the back of the fitting independently
  • Four countersunk mounting holes — fastened permanently to the wall
  • Solid unlacquered brass — no coating or plating
  • Available for 15/32", 5/8", and 1" diameter pipes and rods
  • Brushed (satin) or polished finish

How It Works

The fitting mounts flush to the wall via four screws through the base plate. A vertical structural rod passes through the back of the fitting — this rod runs continuously up and down the wall. A horizontal shelf rod then enters from the front at 90° and is secured inside the fitting by a set screw. The result is a wall-anchored junction where a continuous vertical rod meets a horizontal shelf rod that branches outward from the wall.

Type F vs Type E

Type F — Wall-mounted, horizontal pipe entry at 90°, vertical pipe passes through the back. Used where a horizontal shelf rod needs to connect to the wall while a vertical rod continues past that point.

Type E — Single pipe entry only, no pass-through. Used as a terminal anchor — the pipe enters and stops. No secondary pipe involvement.

Which Pipe Diameter Should I Choose?

15/32" (12mm) — Slimmest profile. Refined, delicate appearance. Popular in residential kitchens, boutique retail, and spaces where visual lightness matters.

5/8" (16mm) — Most popular. Balances visual weight with structural strength. Works in almost any context — residential shelving, bar backs, hospitality, retail.

1" (25mm) — Most substantial. Bold, architectural presence. Best for large installations or where the pipe system is a deliberate visual feature.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the horizontal and vertical pipes connected inside the Type F?
No — the two pipes are independent. The vertical pipe passes through the back of the fitting body without connecting to the horizontal pipe. Each pipe is secured by its own set screw. The fitting provides the wall anchor and the 90° entry point for the horizontal rod, while allowing the vertical rod to continue past that point uninterrupted.

How many Type F fittings do I need?
This depends on the configuration. Type F is typically used where horizontal shelf rods meet a wall-mounted vertical rod at multiple shelf levels. Contact us with your dimensions and we'll confirm the correct fitting count and placement for your shelving layout.

Is the Type F compatible with other BrassShelf fittings?
Yes — all BrassShelf brass fittings are designed to work together within the same pipe diameter. Mix Type A, B, C, D, E, and F fittings freely within a single system as long as you keep the same diameter throughout.
